News from the Principal's Office:

THANKS

Important activities in the coming week include:

The International Schools' Tennis Tournament begins today Friday 26th

Extra Curricular Activities Second Session begins on January 29

The Jose Marti Anniversary Celebration January 29 includes a 20 minute S.E.W. (Stop Everything and Write) session during the day. All parents and guests are warmly invited to attend.

The next Public Speaking opportunity for students will be on February 8 when the issue to be addressed is Clean Water all participants and observers are welcomed.

Buildings and facilities update on the school play area re-design project - the external consultant informed me this week that due to pressure of his other work he can not complete the plans as expected. He has referred the project to his assistant who has been to see me and taken some new measurements and will begin to work on the project from scratch. I therefore anticipate a considerable further delay in finalising plans. I will, however, keep you informed.

Teacher Professional Development and Training

During the current week all the Spanish Department teachers and language teachers received training in the IBD (International Baccalaureate Diploma) Language A1 course from an IB Trainer from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

There are two days of Teacher Professional Development scheduled during the Mid-term break in February for the Lower School Teachers in the IPC (International Primary Curriculum) Assessment Scheme and for Secondary Teachers in a variety of special areas.
