Profile of an Ideal Primary Learner
At the end of the Primary Programme experience an ideal student will be: A higher level thinker and learner that:
- accepts and thinks about new and different ideas
- is able to apply what he/she knows to the real world
- plans and arranges his/her work and time well
- is able to work alone or as part of a group or team
- is able to use I.C.T. skills
- thinks about problems and creates good solutions by identifying different
approaches and deciding which one(s) to use - takes responsibility for the quality of his/her work
- uses all available opportunities to learn wisely
- is able to learn from and support the learning of his/her classmates
- is self disciplined and obeys school and class rules
- is honest in his/her behaviour and work
- takes care of him/herself by exercising regularly
- understands, values and respects who he/she is and who others are
- understands that not everyone is the same in our society
- acts in a safe way for him/herself and others
- understands different cultures, including his/her own, through art, music, literature and drama
- participates actively in all aspects of school life
- understands the need to protect the environment
- understands that he/she is part of a global society
