Welcome!

Dear parents,
On behalf of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the International School of Havana (ISH), I would like to warmly welcome you and your family to our school and community!
As in most international schools, each year families come and go. It is hard to say goodbye to friends and leave a familiar place. We’ve all been there and we know that arriving in a new place can also be very challenging, especially with children. That is why we want to try and make it easier for you and your family to settle in. We believe that we can make a difference by establishing contact with new families as soon as possible, even during the school holidays. As this is a small school, we have a small and close community, and it is in your interest to become a part of it.
To facilitate your settling in, we invite you to contact one of our PTA members. They can introduce you to other families and help you with any questions you might have. Please ask the school’s registrar for more information on who to contact as they have all the necessary information available. Alternatively, you can contact us at pta.ish@gmail.com, or if your child is already attending classes contact the room parent.
Each year the PTA organizes different social events, such as a welcome coffee for new families at the beginning of the school year, a family sports’ day in September, and in the second half of the year a Gala evening, an International Food Fair, a Flea market and many more smaller events. Through this we hope to give everyone opportunities to meet other ISH families and become more involved with the school. Information about all events is communicated through the school publication ‘The Weekly’ available each Friday throughout the school year. Please make a point of reading it to be informed of all school news.
Again, welcome, and we hope to meet you soon!
Kind regards,

Karin den Dulk
PTA President
