PTA FAMILY DAY

The Parent-Teacher Association – currently headed by Karen Den Dulk – organizes the yearly PTA Family Day. The aim of this event is to foster good relationships between the faculty, parents and students outside of the school environment. This event originated from the original school Family Day which is held later on in the year, so the PTA also organizes this event to get new families involved in the community as soon as possible. It is usually held at the Saborit Stadium on a Saturday, and there are fun activities such as students versus parents and teachers soccer matches for the older students or games like egg and spoon races for the younger students. Food and refreshment is sold, and families and teachers come to participate, help or simply enjoy the event. All proceeds made from the event either go into PTA funding for the school, or into a charitable cause such as hurricane relief.
