FRIENDSHIP DAY

Friendship Day is celebrated on the 14th of February, and has its origins in the Christian holidays of St. Valentine’s Day. However, since we are so diverse culturally and religiously as a school we changed the name of the event of Friendship Day to avoid any religious connotations and make it accessible for everybody. The idea for the new name came from the fact that in Spanish it is actually called Día de la Amistad.

Friendship Day still has the same inherent meaning behind it; the demonstration of love towards everybody, especially those nearest and nearest to you – a principle which the school supports. We celebrate Friendship Day within our school in much the traditional ways, by sending letters and roses to those we love. Each year the Student Council is also known for organizing a school dance on or close to the day itself.
