Profile of an ideal E.Y.P. learner

At the end of the Early Years Programme experience an ideal student will be:

An effective communicator that:
  • is displaying emergent reading and writing skills

  • understands and uses defined theme vocabulary

  • responds to and follows instructions and can communicate needs in English
A higher level thinker and learner that:
  • looks for opportunities to further his/her own learning

  • is able to use the computer mouse

  • is able to apply his/her learning to real life situations through play
A responsible & contributory citizen within the I.S.H. multi-cultural society that:
  • recognises established limits, follows instructions and respects others

  • tells the truth

  • has high self esteem

  • displays awareness of differences between him/herself and others

  • acts in a way that is safe for him/herself and others

  • responds positively to others and their needs

  • negotiates peacefully

  • works well in different grouping situations

  • enjoys and participates in art, music, literature and play activities

  • respects other people's belongings

  • takes on simple responsibilities

  • displays awareness of change

  • cares for other people, plants and animals
